Miguel Espinosa (1926-1982) lived in Murcia until his untimely death at the age of 55.
Never a literary mainstream writer, his work brims over with intelligence, irony and lyricism. His main novels are Asklepios(Siruela), Tríbada (Siruela), Escuela de Mandarines(Alfaguara) (Awarded the Ciudad de Barcelona Prize) and La fea burguesía (Alfaguara). He is regarded as one of the great writers of twentieth century Spanish literature.
